Hot-Rolled Coil (HRC) is a foundational, high-demand steel product. It’s made by heating steel slabs to 1100-1250℃ (above steel’s recrystallization temperature), rolling them continuously, and coiling the finished sheet.
- Surface: Dark gray with natural oxide scale (black/blue skin), moderate roughness.
- Performance: Balanced strength and toughness, excellent formability (easy to weld, bend, cut).
- Cost: Economical, about 60%-70% the price of cold-rolled coil (CRC) due to simple production.
- Specifications: Common thickness 2.0-20mm, width 1000-1800mm, coil weight 10-30 tons.
Widely used in construction (steel structures, scaffolding), machinery manufacturing (equipment casings, bases), pipe production (welded/seamless pipes), transportation (automobile chassis), and home appliance substrates.
As a cornerstone of the steel industry, HRC offers strong versatility and stable supply. It also serves as the raw material for CRC, galvanized coil, and other high-end steel products, supporting multiple industrial sectors.
